One of my favorite things about room decor is not the type of crib or the new rug… for me it is always about the little details that are in the room. Like a well dressed book shelf in the family room, zooming in on photographs or other treasures on the shelf for me make the room more interesting. I love the random collection or assortment of objects that somehow come together to tell a story. It is this mix and match approach to home decor that makes a room special.
What an adorable way to display artwork and keepsakes in a child’s room. This stretched cord with simple clasps is featured in one of my favorite books, “Bebes a Paris” from the Paumes book collection. I love how the simplicity of the system allows for unlimited creations and collections.
This simple modification to a changing table is a sweet way to organize in the nursery. Things that look handmade or designed to function always work well. I love it when something has more than one purpose. These pockets can be used for diapers now and later for toys…
Finding a way to personalize your own space can be fun. It is always a great way to unleash your creativity when you give yourself permission to “let go” and not worry about “ruining” something.. instead “create” something. Turn a basic wardrobe into a unique piece. The step by step instructions for both of these enchanting crafts are from the book Creating Children’s Rooms by by Libby Norman.
Have fun and enjoy creating special rooms with your own “small statements”. See the full post at Project Nursery!
