It is slowly feeling like summer might be coming… at least here in LA. With daylight savings leaving more time for blue skies, nature is the perfect place to find inspiring blues.  I love the way the sea and the sky meet on the the horizon and melt together near the ocean.  The sea stirring up different blues  in aqua, turquoise, and the sky’s forever changing palette in perfect timing.  I love this shot below with the oceans backdrop of blues perfectly complimenting each other. Like a mini still life painting, the color of the sea gradually meets the sky… a drift and serene.  Add the drama of  fashion and voila!…a perfect page from a fashion shoot. Inspiring blue showers…This bathroom is dreamy, translucent and watery. The tiles are perfect for creating the pearly iridescence of glass or stone after it rains. I love the shade of this Biltmore Tumbled tile from The Tile Shop.

Proving that you can take blue anywhere… this steely sky wall color featured in Elle Decor is soft yet stormy.  There is a soft, almost after a storm like feeling here set against classic decor. The blues feel heavy but hopeful in that they are trending towards the light. The wall color and the fireplace mantel blend into one. Patina-ed blues. Benjamin Moore has some foggy seaside inspired colors including Polar Ice, Blue Haze and Lookout Point.

Blue gets brighter…. a little more “daytime” like and less cloudy blues, like turquoise and emerald, lead you to tropical thoughts.  I love these hues, Harbor Fog, Blue Rapids, and Blue Bayou.   Oomph has bright and vibrant furniture, like this Newport Console Table.
